Make room for the River
Speaking of equipment, Bob and Tom at OMKC will treat you right. Take a guided tour with a band of friends along the river and cruise the cut alongside local Tomoka fishin' folk. Launch from Bicentennial Park or take surf lessons right out front of OMKC. Watch out for the built-in ejection seat as one of our crew flipped, fell in the drink and pulled herself back in the kayak with the help of 3 others stabilizing capsized boat. Big waves for Miss A1A Kayak... impressive recovery for a beginner in deep water!

SUP?! Have fun on a Standup Paddleboard
Thanks to Tory and Jim who make it possible to head to St. Augustine on Saturday mornings for free SUP lessons! Getting upright on a Standup Paddleboard is a challenge, especially in a chop. We had ideal learning conditions on Saturday. Head out and see Jim on Saturdays just north of the St. Augustine Pier. Thanks again to the Surf Station for making it happen!
For the experienced, check out this connection... Seems out there, but once you've tried both, you will understand. Truly a progressive hybrid. Here's proof that it can be done: paddleboard yoga
Paddle on and Namaste!

Watch the Space Shuttle take off at dusk
Okay, we all know that the space shuttle program is wrapping up soon. Did you dream of working for NASA or of being an astronaut too? Thanks to my friend Justin dream came alive, we were able to get up close to the launch pad fore an excellent view.
Enjoy these sequence shots. Space shuttle photographers have gained my utmost respect. The light variations and speed of the action make a challenging shoot. There were 2 of us with big-style digi cams and 1, eh, steady vid cam.
